New members, whether caring members or support members,
are always welcome at O.N.A.R.R.
However, before you become a member of O.N.A.R.R. we recommend that you read carefully, and ensure that you fully understand, the “Conditions of Membership” document attached here. Please click on the Conditions of Membership link to view the document.
Making the decision to become a wildlife carer offers varying emotions - excitement at the prospect of caring for a creature that truly needs you, worry over whether this is the right decision for you, and whether you will be able to manage, and fulfillment - knowing that any bit of help you can offer to our wildlife can only be of benefit in the long run for their survival.
But please be aware that although you have made the decision to be a carer, it does not necessarily follow that we will be calling you to collect an animal the day we receive your membership. Animals come into care depending upon circumstances. Sometimes wildlife groups are inundated with animals, and sometimes, fortunately for the wildlife, we may not get many calls at all. That then means that wildlife carers get to take a break. We will call you when we have something to offer that needs your care, but that may not be for a couple of weeks, or months, or maybe even longer.
What we would like YOU to do, is when you become a member, contact a Register Head to let them know you are ready to start caring. This means that you have gathered the gear that you will need should we call. We supply a shopping list of items that are necessary when you join the group, and you can take some time to gather what you need to make caring easier for you and the animal in your care.
After reading the 'Conditions of Membership', if you feel that you would like to become a member of our group, please click on this link “Membership Form”. This form is a two page document that needs to be printed out by you. You then complete both pages and mail it, along with your membership fees, to the Membership Secretary. The address is on the form.
This is a link to ONARR's Welcome Letter which introduces you to ONARR. Please take time to read it carefully and understand it.
