How to Sew Wildlife Pouches
You can help ONARR by sewing Wildlife Pouches.

Native animals should be kept in a warm secure enviroment. Stress is the major killer of
native wildlife. It will be minimised if the animal is kept in a warm, dark, quiet place.
Pouches must be made of natural materials so the animals can breath. You can knot or croquet wool
pouches or sew them using cotton, towelling, flanelette, woolen blanketing. You can adapt items such
as hand towels, tea towels, pillowcases or old woollen blankets.

You will need a range of sizes with all edges of the material secured with folded under hems overlocked so no threads can come loose and be swallowed. Try and make the pouches rounded at the bottom so nothing can get caught in the corners.

A good range of sizes are :-

10cm wide by 15cm deep
20cm wide by 30cm deep
30cm wide by 40cm deep
40cm wide by 50cm deep
up to
70cm wide by 80cm deep
for koalas and kangaroos.
